The President stressed the importance of taking prompt action to increase AI’s contribution to the gross domestic product in the coming years. While the IT sector currently contribute approximately USD 1.9 billion annually to Sri Lanka’s gross national income, the potential contribution of AI remains untapped. Officials have been instructed to establish a system to track AI contributions.
